Does my video card have extra memory?

It's a GeForce 210. The box said it had 512MB of memory, the Nvidia website says it has 512MB of memory, the store I got it from even said it had 512MB. When I look at my video card info in the display properties it says it has 1024MB. Did I just get a double memory bonus or is something wrong with the computer's estimate of video memory?|||no its a inuilt function of both directx 10 and directx 11

your card is directx 10 compatible by the way.

if a gam runs out of graphics card memory it starts caching to your computers memory to attempt to keep up frame rates. however this said its a much slower method than using memory on the graphics card itself and even with fast memory it cuts fps by atleast 10 - 20. unless you have a very good gaming computer it will never ever replace having lots of graphics ram and should not be relied on.|||your video card has 512mb of vram (video ram). the other 512mb is shared from your ram.

so this 1024mb of vram is not very effective and only the 512mb is mainly used.

hope i have helped.
