My Compaq (Presario SR1810NX with XP Home Ed, 1.5GB DDR 3200 RAM, 100GB HD) computer came with an all-in-one mobo (i.e., 256MB graphics, 32-bit audio chips; on-board modem and ethernet connection) when I bought the whole system April of last year. And while I was enjoying HP's year-long manufacturer's warranty then, I already tried to inquire which nVidia video card(s) works fine with my PC, but I never did learn anything new without buying from their online store? I understand also that today's newer graphics cards may just prove incompatible to last year's specs but I still wish to know from others who happened to own the same PC I use. Your feedback is most appreciated. Thanks!|||Your computer has a PCI express X16 slot. The 7300GT is a very slow video card by todays standards.
I recommend the X1650PRO instead. It is only $10 more and about 70% faster.
===============================
My opinion for a new video card:
For playing the latest games a FRAPS (frames per second) of 50 or higher
For moderate games a FRAPS of 30 or more.
For no games a FRAPS of 18 or more

Many gaming video card's (such as 8600 and 8800) amperage and power requirements require a larger power supply be installed.
