Dual Video Cards?

My new Motherboard supports PCIe dual video cards.

I have a previous video card:

Nvidia geforce FX series 5500 256mb

I plan on getting the new one:

8500 512mb

I was wondering if I put in both if:

1) If it would work

2) If would speed up the video

3) if it is worth it.|||Firstly you need to of the same card for SLI

Secondly its best to go with the 8800 series which are branded for SLI

Thirdly You need to ensure that your PSU can support it

Fourthly you need an SLI bridging chip to ensure they work together, you can't just insert both and hope they'll work together.

So no it won't work with you selected cards however it will dramtically speed up your video, you will notice it!

It is definitely worth it if you play high quality games and don't want to fork out money for the top grpahics cards however I would alos suggest having a look at ATI Crossfire with the HD3800 series as it alos provides great performance|||a 30% speed increase , i do not know is that is worth twice the price , also , get the 8600gt instead . 100$ a piece for great performance

but yes , you would see a huge increase in speed. and it shoudl work.|||you need two of the exact same cards for sli atleast get 8600 gt|||You can't use run SLI on 2 different video cards - they have to be exactly the same.|||the new 8 series supports nVidia's SLi technology, sadly it only works on exact cards 8500s need to be matched with 8500s (even goes down to not being able to use an 8600GS with an 8600GT) so, it actually would not work, you also need to check how your motherboard supports two cards. if it's ati's crossfire you would need two ati crossfire cards or if it's nvidia's SLi you would need two SLi cards|||There's only one answer, it will not work.|||first off it wouldnt work. you need two of the same graphics cards to run in sli. you cant use two diffrent ones.
