I own a Acer Aspire 8930G with 4gb ddr3 mem and GeForce 9700M GT 512mb. I have installed Windows XP Professional and it recognize only 3mb of my memory. I would love to upgrade mine Video Card. I wish to know if it is possible and if is where i could do it. Thanks for answers|||No you cant replace it. Secondly, you apparently uninstalled Vista to begin with and loaded a 32 bit version of XP which is why your PC only sees 3 megs of ram! You might learn to do some research before you play PC technician|||No, you can not upgrade the video card of any laptop.
Also, that windows xp must have been 32-bit and not 64-bit. As 32-bit has a physical limitation that prevents it from recognizing much beyond 3 GB of ram.|||Yes, you can upgrade your GPU in certain laptops which has the latest MXM cards. 8930G has the MXM III type card and if you can get another MXM III card you can upgrade. But you should keep in mind that 8930G has poor ventilation and made extremely heat up your laptop. And more over finding a better MXM III card than 9700M GT is very hard. You can try MXM-upgrade or E-Bay.|||Unfortunately, it does not appear that your laptop can have the video card upgraded.
