Can I combine two different nvidia video cards?

I have an



XFX nvidia Geforce 8600Gt w/256mb

and a

XFX nvidia Geforce 6200 w/512mb



I have the 8600Gt currently installed, but my bro has a spare 6200 so can I put them both into my computer or will that ruin everything?|||In some cases it will work but you will get better performance with a single card in most cases because sli will make yours run at the same speed and that will be the slower of the two. So your clock speed will actually go down and performance will be hampered.|||sadly nvidia requires identical cards for the SLI to work. AMD has crossfire which allows different cards.
