First, GS is a lower category video card, GT is the better version.
There are three components, not just one that generates performance.
1. cpu - what cpu do you have and what is it's GHZ rating? - core2duo or quad, highest model # and GHZ will perform better than lower models.
2. RAM, ram is not equal, there are many different brands and speeds. The higher the better. DDR2 6400 is common, but "slow" for gaming. Try going with DDR2 10066, or better yet DDR3 ram if your motherboard can handle it. Not only do you need good ram, but the amount of ram will effect performance. The more the better 4GB is standard for me, but 8GB would be above average. You WILL need a 64 bit OS (vista x64) in order to use that much ram. 32 bit OS (vista/xp x86) can only use a max of 3.5 GB of RAM, so keep that in mind.
3. Video card. Video cards also have differently rated speeds and abilities. HD cards would better than the one you have listed. Also I'd suggest going for a 1GB DDR3 card for best performance.(they even have up to DDR5 now!) I suggest GTX 285 or Radeon HD 4870 as they offer good speed at reasonable price.
To sum up, all three of these components combine to determine performance, it could be one or all of them making your game lag. In addition, some games requirements are higher than others, or simply have bad coding which makes them run slower than other games. It could be a wide variety of any of the things listed.|||What are the rest of your specs? Details are necessary
