I am interested in putting 2 EVGA GeForce 8800 GT AKIMBO 512MB Video Cards into my EVGA nForce 780i SLI Motherboard. If I do this and link up the Dual SLI cards, will it effectively double my FPS in game?
What other benefits will i get from running dual cards? I have read a lot of review but none on dual SLI cards.|||It will not double your FPS necessarily it will give you realistically a 30-70% increase over just one, other than FPS and heat there isn''t too many more advantages to SLI. you might be better off investing in one Nvidia GTX 280 such as the XFX card in the link below. For sli you should have atleast a 600watt power supply made by one of the leading manufacturers. |||Nope you don't it varies on the game that your running them on some games only an extra 10 fps some maybe a few more.|||probably will jump up alot but i dont think it will double but it might and the advantages have sli is more raw computing power|||right now not worth it. nvidas claims are way out of proportion. some older games actually drop a few fps because it cant use the newer tech. some ones out there (alot) have very minimal improvements some only being a few fps gains. there are very few games that actually get a big improvement out yet but in the future it looks to be very promising
