I mostly editing video & photos &will use it for more of "multimedia" type thing rather than strictly gaming. I really need help picking a good graphics card... Also, even though I don't plan on gaming alot, it may be used for that ocassionally, so is it any good for gaming? What do you recommend if not this one? Thanks.|||yes its fine. you don't need a 3850 for what you are doing. the only reason for buying something more powerful is if you are particularly attracted to playing the latest games. if you are happy to play games that have been around for awhile theres nothing wrong with an 8600gt. Stay away from the ddr2 version though! ddr3 or ddr4 only!!|||A geforce 8600GT is fairly good enough for multimedia. This card is OK for casual gaming.|||its ok for gaming but i'd reccommend the HD2600 (normally i don't go ati) but the HD2600 for the same price could beat the 8600gt unless you go higher end then nvidia dominates.but for the lower end cards ati dominates.|||I will recommend you buy a ATI radeon 3850 for the money. It has more features and better for gaming. Also ATI seems to have better image quality.|||if u want cheap ati radeon 3850 tell me ur budget|||well i think this is a good card really since even my current intel gma 3100 is good for multimedia well it's okay but this will run fine and personally 2 gigs of ram for the time being with xp is no problem since i have it
only suggestion go for the cheaper 256MB edition because the memory speed is DDR2 compared to DDR3/ GDDR3 which is offered on the 256MB edition
Personally if u can last with playing Crysis on medium then you will be totally fine.
