Which of these video cards is better? 8800GS or 2600XT?

When you answer, I want you to keep in mind that I DO NOT have PCI-Express 2.0. Now on with the question, which of the two cards would you say is better. I know 8800 would be the obvious choice, but if so, why does the 2600XT have a better core clock speed, memory clock speed, more memory, and more stream processors. The specs are below.

8800GS - $149.99

Core Clock - 580MHz

Memory Clock - 1400MHz

Memory - 384MB GDDR3

Memory Interface - 192-bit

Stream Processors - 96

2600XT - $139.99

Core Clock - 830MHz

Memory Clock - 1920MHz

Memory - 512MB GDDR3

Memory Interface - 128-bit

Stream Processors - 120

So as you can see, the 2600XT has better specs in nearly everything, besides the memory interface. So which of these two is actually better. I'll put the websites in extra details as soon as I submit, and remeber that I DO NOT have PCI Express 2.0, so any extra bandwith the 8800GS would have will be negated.

Thanks for all the help!|||http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2…

They don't have the exact same cards, but I choose ones as close as possible. Both of the ones I compared are a little less powerful than the ones you're choosing from, but the 8800 (GTS in this case) destroys the 2600 just about every time.

Go with nVidia. ATI always seems to be playing catch-up.

nVidia's new 9600 GT cards kick pretty much any ATI cards' butt. And it's priced at about $190.|||ok the nvidia cards are fast but ATI does have a new series that does kick butt check out this card below
